About

9E4A0454.jpg

Carla creates structured botanical compositions, expressing herself through a vivid color palette inspired by both fauna and flora. Her work features expressive characters rendered in saturated tones and subtle, pale human expressions. She blends human emotion with abstract representations of the natural world.

Her butterflies symbolize the sensation of the beginnings of being in love, along with the anxiety it often brings — Alluding to the expression “butterflies in the stomach.”

Carla enjoys experimenting with patterns and combining pencil textures with paint, all while remaining rooted in her illustrative style.
Her felines represent men, while the ribbons that appear in many of her works symbolize attachment and emotional dependence.

Carla explores themes of love and loss in human relationships, drawn from her personal experiences.
She captures the emotion and sensitivity of everyday life. Her characters reflect introspection and deep thought—a poetic distortion of daily beauty.
